• Wear 20 to 22 hours every day: Only remove your aligners for eating, drinking anything other than cool still water, and brushing/flossing. Wearing trays fewer than 20 hours per day causes teeth to lag behind the tray shape ("non-tracking").

• Never eat or drink hot beverages with trays in: Hot coffee or tea can warp the thermoplastic material and trap sugar and acid against your enamel.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Invisalign does not have metal brackets or poking wires that irritate the inside of your lips. When you switch to a new aligner stage, it is normal to feel firm pressure or mild tenderness on specific teeth for the first 1 to 3 days, a sign that the tray is actively guiding movement. Switching to a new tray before bedtime helps you sleep through the initial hours of pressure.

Will people notice the attachments on my teeth?

SmartForce® attachments are tiny bumps made of tooth-coloured composite resin matched to your enamel shade. While your aligners are in, they appear as small contour points under the clear tray and are far less noticeable than fixed brackets. All attachments are polished off completely at the end of treatment.

What happens if I lose or crack an Invisalign tray while travelling?

Always keep your previous stage tray in its case when you move forward. If you lose your current tray, contact COSDENT immediately, our orthodontist will advise whether to wear your previous tray to hold position or advance early to the next stage depending on how many days you had worn the lost tray.

Do I still need a retainer after Invisalign?

Yes. Every orthodontic treatment, whether fixed braces or Invisalign, requires retainers afterward so teeth do not drift back toward their original positions.
